Social Media Channels Terms of Use

Thanks for visiting one of Subaru Canada’s social media channels. These channels, which were created and are administered by us, Subaru Canada, are meant for your enjoyment and to permit you to interact with other Subaru Canada fans/followers and with us. Each of these channels is hosted on a social media platform (each, a "Platform") such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

We welcome all your thoughts, experiences, posts, comments, links, images and videos ("User Generated Content"), so long as you agree to only share User Generated Content subject to these Terms of Use and to the Terms of Use of the Platform that you have used to share that User Generated Content. Depending on the channel you are on, the applicable Platform’s Terms of Use may, for example, be Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, Twitter’s Terms of Service, The Twitter Rules, YouTube’s Terms of Service, LinkedIn’s User Agreement, or the Instagram's Terms of Service. Please do not share any User Generated Content if you do not agree to our and to the applicable Platform’s Terms of Use.

So here are some housekeeping rules to keep things friendly:

• When sharing User Generated Content on any of Subaru Canada’s social media channels, please ensure you have the right to share that User Generated Content. While this applies to all User Generated Content, please be particularly careful when posting photos and videos.
• While these social media channels are primarily for our Canadian fans, we also welcome fans from other parts of the world. However, if you are a fan from a country other than Canada and you have an issue or concern specific to that country that you want to share, please share it on the Subaru social media channels for that country instead.
• We do not endorse, nor are we responsible for, the User Generated Content shared by fans and non-fans alike on our social media channels. Please do not treat any User Generated Content on these channels as coming from Subaru Canada.
• If you are an employee, a partner or a supplier of Subaru Canada, please disclose your relationship with Subaru Canada when posting any User Generated Content relating to Subaru products or the Subaru brand.
• By posting User Generated Content to any of our social media channels, you are granting us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to copy, reproduce, use, modify, alter, repurpose, delete and transform that User Generated Content (this license is the "User Generated Content License"). The User Generated Content License ends only when you delete that posted User Generated Content unless that User Generated Content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.
• Occasionally we will link to third party articles and websites ("Third Party Content") as a way of sharing information with you. Please be aware that Subaru Canada did not create, does not endorse and is not responsible for any Third Party Content.
• We may delete any User Generated Content that:
  1. contains profanity or malicious language;
  2. is threatening or bullying;
  3. uses discriminating language, including language that discriminates based on race, religion, gender, disabilities or sexual orientation;
  4. is obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit;
  5. is a promotional offer, spam, advertising, irrelevant to our products or services, or solicits for or links to third party websites of which we do not approve;
  6. is a link to a competitor’s website;
  7. contains yours or someone else’s personal information, such as that person’s name, address, phone number or place of employment;
  8. infringes our or a third party’s intellectual property rights;
  9. duplicates already posted User Generated Content; or
  10. is not in French or English.
• We may prohibit you from participating on any of Subaru Canada’s social media channels if you violate any of our Terms of Use or if you violate any Platform’s Terms of Use.
