Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. Subaru Canada Earns Two 2014 ALG Canadian Residual Value Awards
12 February, 2014

The sixth annual ALG awards honour 2014 vehicles predicted to hold their value better than any other vehicles in the segment

(MISSISSAUGA) -Subaru Canada, Inc. today announced that it has received two Canadian Residual Value Awards from ALG, the industry benchmark for residual values and depreciation data. The Subaru BRZ was awarded ALG's Residual Value Award in the Sports Car segment for the second consecutive year, while the Outback received the award in the newly segmented category, Mid-size Utility Vehicle - 2 Row, for the fourth consecutive year. This is especially notable as ALG's Residual Value Awards have only been announced in Canada for the past six years.

"Riding on its status as the original crossover wagon, the 2014 Subaru Outback claims another Mid-size Utility win," said Geoff Helby, Canada Regional Director for ALG. "It offers potential SUV shoppers the carlike ride and handling associated with a low centre of gravity, car-based platform. Subaru has subdued fleet sales and customer incentives, ensuring that sales growth occurs by organic retail demand. Like the Legacy, this roomy and refined - not to mention brawny - generation of Outback is cultivating a horde of loyal fans."

The annual ALG Canada Residual Value Awards recognize automakers' outstanding achievements for vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period for luxury brands and a four-year period for mainstream brands. Awards are given in 24 vehicle categories and also for the two brands with the highest overall predicted residual values among all mainstream and premium vehicles. This year's awards are based on 2014 model year vehicles.

"Our approach is designed to give the Subaru driver an unsurpassed level of confidence behind the wheel," said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. "This dedication has helped us consistently rank as one of the industry's top manufacturers. Having the highest predicted resale value in two segments will help more and more Canadians put Subaru on their shopping lists."

In the hotly contested Sports Car segment, the Subaru BRZ proudly takes home top honours.

"For the second consecutive year, the Subaru BRZ takes home the Residual Value Award in the Sports Car segment," said Helby. "Its combination of low entry price, thrilling performance and Subaru dependability make it one of the best bargains in the segment in many years."
