Best December Ever with Highest Annual Sales on Record: Subaru Canada Sells 42,035 Vehicles in 2014

  • Back-to-back increases over the past 12 months led to a new annual sales record with 42,035 units retailed, an increase of 14.3 percent over 2013 sales.

  • Monthly sales increased by 15.9 percent with 3,133 units retailed this December.

  • The 2015 Subaru Outback enjoyed record-breaking December results with sales up 81.7 percent.


(MISSISSAUGA) - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today closed out 2014 with its highest annual sales ever - a milestone 42,035 Subaru vehicles retailed over the past year. This historic finish represents a 14.3 percent increase year to date. This past month marked the 12th consecutive month of record-breaking results as sales rose by 15.9 percent with 3,133 units retailed this December.


Sales success was spread evenly across Subaru's award-winning lineup in December: the 2015 Outback, AJAC's Best New SUV under $35K and a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner, counted December as its best one ever with sales up 81.7 percent and a record 854 units sold. Subaru's compact car - the 2015 Impreza, a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner - enjoyed a sales increase of 5.7 percent with 553 units sold this December. The 2015 Subaru Legacy, AJAC's Best New Family Car under $30K and also a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner, retailed 276 units this December, an increase of 67.3 percent over the same month last year. Sales also rose by 78.9 percent with 161 units sold for the 2015 WRX STI line, a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award winner.
