New Year, New January Record and Continued Success for Subaru Canada: Sales up 13.5% with 2,633 Vehicles Sold

  • Strong start to 2015 with 2,633 vehicles retailed, an increase of 13.5 percent.

  • Record January sales for the Subaru WRX STI; results up an incredible 91.9 percent with 165 units retailed.

  • Best January ever for the Subaru XV Crosstrek with 486 units retailed, an increase of 66.4 percent.

  • Subaru Outback sales climbed with 615 vehicles sold in January; an increase of 47.8 percent for a new record January sales result.


(MISSISSAUGA) - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today set a blistering sales pace for 2015 and continued its successful sales streak with its best ever January results; sales were up 13.5 percent with 2,633 vehicles sold in the first month of the year. This marks the 13th consecutive month of sales increases for the Japanese automaker. Sales were up across Canada as the Western region increased by 20.5 percent, Ontario was up by 17.7 percent, Quebec grew by 6.6 percent and the Atlantic region tied last year's January results.


Building on last year's success, the Subaru WRX STI line, XV Crosstrek, Outback and Legacy increased results over last January as sales rose by 91.9, 66.4, 47.8 and 46.9 percent, respectively. The 2015 Outback, AJAC's Best New SUV under $35K and a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner, retailed 615 units to solidify January as its best one ever. Subaru's fun-to-drive compact crossover - the 2015 XV Crosstrek, also a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner - set a new January record with 486 units sold. The Subaru WRX STI line experienced its best January ever with 165 units retailed. Lastly, the 2015 Subaru Legacy, AJAC's Best New Family Car under $30K and also a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner, retailed 188 units this January, an increase of 60 units and 46.9 percent over last January.
