(MISSISSAUGA) - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) continues to build momentum in its first quarter, today reporting its best ever February results with sales up 8.2 percent with 2,587 vehicles retailed. The Japanese automaker enjoys its 14th back-to-back month of record-breaking results.

All regions experienced record February results with sales up across Canada: the Western region increased by 11.9 percent, Ontario was up by 7.7 percent, Quebec grew by 6.5 percent and the Atlantic region increased by 4.6 percent.

Leading the sales charge was the award-winning Subaru Legacy: Recently named Canadian Car of the Year by AJAC (Automobile Journalists Association of Canada) after claiming the segment award as Best New Family Car under $30K, the Japanese-engineered sedan is also a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner as well as an ALG segment award winner for highest overall predicted resale value. The 2015 Legacy retailed 251 units in February, an incredible increase of 94.6 percent. The 2015 Outback – AJAC’s Best New SUV under $35K, a 2015 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS award winner, as well as an ALG and Canadian Black Book segment award winner for resale value – marked a noteworthy increase of 74.8 percent, retailing 715 units in February. This makes the SUV-alternative the volume leader for Subaru this month.

"These exceptional sales results are certainly a reflection of our outstanding recent achievements,” said Shiro Ohta, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. “From its inception, every Subaru vehicle is engineered with safety, performance, durability and value in mind. I’m thrilled that industry experts and Canadian shoppers are taking notice of our award-winning lineup.”
