(MISSISSAUGA) — Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) soars past all previous sales records, today announcing its highest monthly sales ever. April results skyrocketed with results up 17.1 percent over the same period last year and 4,901 units sold, marking 16 back-to-back months of outstanding sales growth.


New sales milestones were reached in all regions across Canada: the Western region increased by 12.4 percent, Ontario was up by 20.8 percent, Quebec grew by 14.0 percent and the Atlantic region increased by 29.6 percent.


Contributing to Subaru’s sales success in April was the Outback with results up an impressive 66.3 percent. The Outback – the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada’s (AJAC) Best New SUV under $35K, a 2015 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) and TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS (TSP+) award winner, as well as an ALG (formerly Automotive Lease Guide) and Canadian Black Book segment award winner for resale value – enjoyed its highest monthly sales ever with 1,156 units retailed. Subaru’s compact crossover, the XV Crosstrek (IIHS TSP and TSP+ award winner), also enjoyed its best monthly sales ever with a record-breaking 797 units sold in April, an increase of 7.7 percent.


The Subaru Legacy - which was recently named Canadian Car of the Year by AJAC after claiming the segment award as Best New Family Car under $30K, and is a TSP and TSP+ award winner as well as an ALG segment award winner – sold 405 units in April, increasing sales by 30.6 percent. Subaru’s fun-to-drive compact car, the Impreza, a TSP and TSP+ award winner as well as an ALG segment award winner, toppled previous April sales with 951 units sold, an increase of 36.6 percent. IIHS TSP award winner and ALG’s Best Sporty Car, the BRZ, increased sales in April by 5.4 percent with 118 units sold.
