Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. (MISSISSAUGA) — Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) and its national network of 90 dealers are thrilled to announce unprecedented growth, setting a new all-time record for the second month in a row. Subaru’s monthly sales performance continued to skyrocket with 4,983 units delivered, an increase of 12.6 percent over last May. Buoyant results mark 17 consecutive months of sales growth with performance up 13.9 percent year to date.

Every region from coast to coast enjoyed record-breaking performance in May: the Atlantic region increased by 26.8 percent, Quebec was up by 8.7 percent, Ontario grew by 18.1 percent and the Western region increased by 6.2 percent. May was the best month on record for both Ontario and the Western region.

The Subaru XV Crosstrek – an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick (TSP) and Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) award winner – continued its staggering sales pace with its second consecutive month of exceptional growth as compact crossover sales climbed 20.7 percent with 893 units retailed. The Subaru Outback enjoyed record-breaking May results as sales rose by 32.1 percent with 868 units retailed. The Outback is the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada’s (AJAC) Best New SUV under $35K, a 2015 IIHS TSP and TSP+ award winner, as well as an ALG (formerly Automotive Lease Guide) and Canadian Black Book segment award winner for resale value.

The Subaru Legacy - which was recently named Canadian Car of the Year by AJAC after claiming the segment award as Best New Family Car under $30K, and is a TSP and TSP+ award winner as well as an ALG segment award winner – sold 350 units in May, increasing sales by 64.3 percent. Subaru’s fun-to-drive compact car, the Impreza, a TSP and TSP+ award winner as well as an ALG segment award winner, continued its path of growth in May with 945 units sold, an increase of 27.0 percent.

“At Subaru, our success is propelled by both our product and strong dealer network,” said Shiro Ohta, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. “Recent awards and accolades from ALG, Canadian Black Book and the IIHS will certainly instill confidence in even more Canadians, building on our double-digit year-to-date sales growth to continue our path towards another annual sales record in 2015.”
