Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary with driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition and road condition. In non-ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. See owner’s manual for details.

Advanced power.
Proven Subaru capability and versatility.

The 2026 Subaru Solterra represents a bold evolution of Subaru engineering—powerful, balanced and ready for every Canadian road. A reinforced e-Subaru Global Platform delivers exceptional rigidity and a lower centre of gravity for superior stability and safety. The dual-motor StarDrive® system generates 338 hp and instant torque through Symmetrical Full-Time AWD, combining electric precision and legendary performance. With refined suspension tuning, 210 mm of ground clearance and natural steering response, the refreshed 2026 Solterra turns advanced technology into everyday capability.

Subaru StarDrive®

The groundbreaking Subaru StarDrive® powertrain features two advanced e-Axles—one mounted at the front, the other at the rear—each integrating a motor, transaxle and inverter for seamless electric performance. Together, they generate a combined output of 252 kilowatt (kW) and instant torque delivery: 268.6 Nm at the front and 88.3 Nm at the back. Power is automatically distributed to the wheels with the best grip, while Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and brake-based torque vectoring sharpen cornering precision. The low-mounted battery pack lowers the centre of gravity for balanced handling. Selectable Eco and Power modes, plus steering-wheel paddles for regenerative braking, give drivers precise control and confident response in every condition.

Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD

All Solterra models come standard with Subaru’s all-electric Symmetrical Full-Time AWD, engineered for stability, traction and control in every condition. The dual e-Axle layout distributes torque front-to-rear and side-to-side instantly, maintaining balanced grip and confident composure. Enhanced software predicts wheel slip before it occurs, optimizing power delivery for smooth, secure progress on snow, rain or dry pavement alike.

Dual-function X-MODE®

Standard dual-function X-MODE® gives the Solterra added confidence when the road surface turns unpredictable. With settings for Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud, the system automatically adjusts motor torque, throttle response and braking to maintain optimal traction. Working seamlessly with Symmetrical Full-Time AWD, X-MODE® ensures smooth, stable progress across slippery streets, gravel roads or snow-covered trails, showcasing genuine Subaru capability in every season.

Downhill Assist Control

When X-MODE® is activated, Downhill Assist Control automatically maintains a steady, pre-set speed on steep or slippery grades, allowing the driver to focus entirely on steering. By precisely managing braking force and wheel traction, the system helps keep the Solterra composed and stable on challenging descents, whether easing down a snowy driveway, a wet boat launch or a rocky trail.

Grip Control

A standard feature, Grip Control enhances low-speed capability on rough or slippery terrain. The system automatically regulates torque and braking to maintain a steady pace between 2 and 10 km/h, allowing the driver to focus solely on steering. With five selectable speed settings, this system delivers smooth, confident progress on rutted trails, snowy driveways, or slippery boat ramps, where steady control matters most.

Technologically Advanced Chassis for Superior Protection

The lightweight yet ultra-rigid chassis is engineered to deliver the ideal balance of handling, comfort and quiet confidence. A wider track and optimized suspension geometry enhance stability and control, while refined electric power steering provides natural, responsive feedback. Generous ground clearance and precise tuning allow this all-electric Subaru to feel equally at home carving twisty pavement or tackling the uneven trails that lead to the lake.

e-Subaru Global Platform.

e-Subaru Global Platform

Purpose-built for electric vehicles, the e-Subaru Global Platform delivers the structural strength and refinement that define the 2026 Solterra. This architecture increases torsional rigidity by integrating high-tensile steel, engineered crumple zones and reinforced battery protection that disperses impact energy away from the cabin. The low-mounted battery pack lowers the centre of gravity, enhancing steering precision, straight-line stability and ride comfort. Near-perfect weight distribution further contributes to balanced handling, while advanced insulation and sealing help quiet the cabin. The result is a solid, composed foundation that elevates safety, performance and refinement, hallmarks of genuine Subaru engineering.

Front Suspension

The MacPherson®-type strut front suspension with coil springs and a stabilizer bar is engineered for precise handling and everyday comfort. Tuned to reduce noise, harshness and vibration, it also maintains superior stability and control across varying surfaces. A reinforced stabilizer assembly minimizes body roll during cornering, while the wide track and generous ground clearance deliver crisp steering response and confident, all-road capability.

Rear Suspension

The double-wishbone rear suspension with coil springs and a stabilizer bar is engineered to deliver the ideal blend of comfort and control. Designed to reduce vibration, noise and harshness, it provides a smooth, composed ride across uneven terrain. The rear stabilizer assembly minimizes body roll during cornering and under load, enhancing stability and agility. The result is confident, refined handling on every road surface.
