  • Strong sales continue with February being yet another record-setting month and contributing to best year-to-date sales ever

  • The next-generation 2017 Impreza continues to build momentum having sold 658 units, up by 79.8 percent or 292 units from last February

  • WRX STI achieves a record month with a 38.2 percent increase over last year

(MISSISSAUGA) — Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce best ever February sales with 2,965 units retailed. Though the weather was bleak this February, sales were sunny and carried forward the momentum of 2016’s annual sales record of 50,190 units, the first year topping 50,000 units.

Every region across Canada contributed with their own record sales for February.  The Western region was up 20.1 percent; Ontario was up 20.5 percent; Quebec was up 12.6% and the Atlantic region was up 1.8 percent.

Additionally, the sporty WRX STI had its best February ever with 282 units retailed for an increase of 38.2 percent over last year, and other models weren’t far behind. The AJAC award-winning Forester, Subaru’s volume leader, achieved a 9.2 percent increase over last year with 759 units retailed. The newly redesigned Impreza boosted sales by 79.8 percent with 658 units sold. Outback sales rose by 19.8 percent over last February with 659 units delivered to customers, while the BRZ achieved a 56.3 percent increase over last year with 50 units sold. Most notably, nearly half of Subaru’s sports coupe sales were led by the introduction of the BRZ Inazuma Edition, retailing 21 cars of its 125-unit limited release this month.

“We are set for a strong 2017,” says Shiro Ohta, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. “With our strong product offering, recent mainstream brand awards from ALG and Black Book, and our continued commitment to serving our customers, we look forward to 2017 as being another historic year for Subaru Canada. ”
