Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. See the owner’s manual or NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide for details.

Subaru Canada Starts Q2 with Strong April Sales
2 May, 2019

  • Monthly sales stood at a healthy 5,220 units in April.

  • Ascent three-row SUV with seating for up to eight posted its best-ever month.

  • BRZ sports car saw sales jump 20.4 per cent compared to the same month last year.

(MISSISSAUGA, ONT.)—Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) started the second quarter of 2019 strongly, eclipsing the 5,000-unit sales mark for the first time this year.

The monthly sales tally stood at a healthy 5,220 in April, an 8.6 per cent decrease compared to the same month last year when the brand set an all-time monthly sales record.

In a sure sign of spring, the fun-to-drive BRZ sports car saw a 20.4 per cent increase in sales compared to the same month last year, while the road trip-ready Ascent saw its best month since hitting the market last summer, with sales up 19 per cent compared to its previous best month.

“With summertime just around the corner, I’m excited for what’s to come for Subaru,” said SCI president, chairman and CEO Yasushi Enami. “Our award-winning lineup only stands to get stronger and more Canadians are seeing what Subaru has to offer."

Earlier this year, Subaru was named the best mainstream brand in Canada by ALG, while the Impreza, Crosstrek, Outback and WRX/WRX STI were named segment winners for highest predicted resale value in the same awards.

Additionally, Subaru led the industry with eight Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), while its DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System was recently named the Best Safety Innovation for 2019 by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).

SCI’s strong April sales results comes after a milestone year in which the brand set its seventh annual sales record with 58,070 units sold.
